Meet Jodie

Everyone needs some Positive Energy in their life.

Positive Energy started with a simple belief: movement can change how we feel, not just physically, but mentally too.

Positive Energy started with a simple belief: movement can change how we feel, not just physically, but mentally too.

For founder Jodie Hines, that belief comes from lived experience. Movement has been a constant throughout Jodie’s life, helping her navigate some of her hardest chapters and ultimately shaping the idea for Positive Energy — a place where looking after your mind is just as important as looking after your body.

After having her two girls, Jodie rushed back into fitness believing she was doing the right thing. Instead, she found herself overtraining and following advice that didn’t suit her body or the stage of life she was in.

That experience became a turning point.

Jodie became a personal trainer and immersed herself in learning more about women’s health, strength, recovery and the connection between movement and mental wellbeing.

But the dream was always bigger than creating another gym.

“I wanted to create the kind of place I was always looking for, somewhere you could train, slow down, have a coffee, talk to someone, try something new or simply feel part of something.”

And so, Positive Energy was born. A wellness home in Balgowlah where strength, spin, Pilates, yoga, breathwork, recovery, therapy and good coffee all live under one roof, but where community and connection sit at the heart of everything.

Jodie’s own experiences with movement, breathwork and holistic wellbeing have shaped the philosophy behind PE.

“Movement and connection have helped me through some really tough times. Positive Energy came from wanting to create a space where other people could find the things that help them feel good too.”

Today, Positive Energy welcomes everyone - women, men, teens, mums, beginners, seasoned trainers and anyone simply wanting to feel a little better than when they walked in. There’s no one way to do wellness here.

You might come for a strength class and stay for a coffee. Come for Pilates and discover breathwork. Meet someone at one of our community events. Take five minutes in the courtyard. Or find a style of movement you never knew you loved.

That’s what Positive Energy means to Jodie.

Movement. Connection. Community.

Looking after your mind as much as your body. And finding more of the things that make you feel good.

Because everyone could use a little more Positive Energy in their life.
